While working as a barista at Roasters Coffee & Tea in Amarillo, Texas, Craig Gualtiere earned a bachelor of science in communications from West Texas A&M University and graduated in 1997. The following year, he bought Roasters with aid from a loan from First National Bank and soon after expanded the shop to include two additional locations. Craig Gualtiere was also elected to the Randall County Commission in 1998.
Since he acquired Roasters, he has ensured it remains loyal to the community by purchasing supplies from local companies. In addition, he prioritizes developing sustainable relationships with customers and local business owners. He attributes Roasters' continued success to a combination of its products, pricing, and friendly staff.
Gualtiere maintains a work-life balance through his interest in drag racing and participates in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. In 2018, he finished as the runner-up at the NHRA SpringNationals in Houston.
